THE CATALYST
From a very young age, I have felt a profound connection with animals. I grew up in a cat-only household until late elementary school, when my parents adopted a beagle named Toby from a local shelter. I quickly became fascinated with dog training and spent countless hours reading library books and watching videos to learn as much as I could.
GOOD FORTUNE
A few years later, I was introduced to a young German Shepherd named Clark, who would later become my service dog. Clark was my introduction to the world of dog sports, and through him, I had the opportunity to train and compete in a wide range of disciplines, including dock diving, frisbee, weight pull, agility, rally, obedience, and shed hunt. I credit him with shaping me into the handler I am today.
I now work with Oliver, a German Shepherd who continues to challenge me in all the right ways. In addition to the sports I pursued with Clark, Oliver has introduced me to conformation, scent work, and herding, further expanding my experience and passion for working dogs."
